Richard Goodall reveals how he and his wife Angie navigate life and bills while trying to win AGT

Over the past few months, Terre Haute singing sensation Richard Goodall has spent a lot of time in Pasadena, CA as a contestant on America’s Got Talent.

His days are often busy with things like rehearsals, wardrobe fittings, and various interviews.

“There are some nights I don’t get home until 8 or 9 o’clock at night,” said Richard Goodall.

When Goodall is not busy with AGT-related events, he and his wife, Angie, do many of the normal things we all do. That includes going to the laundry mat and grocery store.

“We’ve gotten lunch meat, cottage cheese, and cookies and just kind of ‘vegged out’ in the room quite a few nights.

He and Angie also go out sometimes and experience life in the suburbs of Los Angeles. A GoFundMe page was set up to help them enjoy their stay out west.

“So Ang and I have been going out eating at places that aren’t around Terre Haute and experiencing new things,” added Goodall.

While in California, he still has bills to pay back in Terre Haute. That’s where his job as a janitor for 23 years has come in handy.

“I had saved back vacation days, so I’m still getting a check from the school corporation,” said Goodall.

Do America’s Got Talent Contestants Get Paid?

America’s Got Talent contestants don’t earn a salary, either. However, they do win some money if they make it all the way to the end of the season. But while fans might think that there is a cash prize of $1 million, there’s actually more to the story.

The Sun reported, “The prize, which totals $1,000,000, is payable in a financial annuity over forty years, or the contestant may choose to receive the present cash value of such annuity.”

It’s easy to assume that America’s Got Talent offers winners the same prize. This isn’t the case, though.
