AGT Golden Buzzer Hero Richard Goodall Will Sing with Journey: Will He Win the $1 Million Prize?

Richard Goodall fans are about to find out if the Vigo County School Corp. singing janitor is the winner of America’s Got Talent and the $1 million prize.

The results will be announced during a two-hour finale episode event, which will air on NBC and WTWO-TV 2 in the Wabash Valley beginning at 9 p.m. tonight Eastern Time.

There will be an hour-long countdown special starting at 8 p.m., according to NBC.com. Goodall competed with nine other performers during last week’s finals.

On Tuesday’s season finale, viewers will be able to see Goodall sing with the acclaimed rock band Journey, led by original guitarist Neal Schon.

Other guest star celebrities who will appear include Simone Biles & the Gold Over America Tour and Michael Buble.

Goodall, who’s been a VCSC custodian for 23 years, has climbed the “AGT” competition’s ladder since May, when Judge Heidi Klum gave him the Golden Buzzer after his rendition of the Journey song, “Don’t Stop Believin’”

During Sept. 17 finals, he sang Journey’s 1983 hit song, “Faithfully.”

With each performance, he has wowed judges, the Pasadena Civic Auditorium audience and the viewing public.

While the results aren’t yet public, an AGT YouTube video of Goodall’s performance during Sept. 17 finals showed nearly 2.3 million views as of Monday. The next closest was Roni Sagi and Rhythm with 641,000 views.

Winners are determined based on votes by AGT fans.

After his Sept. 17 finals performance, Judge Howie Mandel told Goodall, “I think you just sang yourself $1 million.”

Simon Cowell told Goodall, “We all need a hero right now. You are our hero.”
