Looking back at Richard Goodall’s meaningful journey on America’s Got Talent that moved the audience

Richard Goodall wrapped up his final chapter of his America’s Got Talent story on Tuesday evening in Hollywood.

In his last performance on the AGT stage, Goodall performed the iconic 80’s hit “Faithfully,” by Journey.

“I always wanted to finish with Faithfully,” said Richard Goodall, America’s Got Talent Finalist. “I wanted it to be Journey, to be like a bookend. I started with Journey, and I wanted to finish with Journey and close the book.”

The singing janitor has captured the hearts of America, and he’s even captured the hearts of the America’s Got Talent judges week after week. Including Howie Mandel, who says he saw the Terre Haute native on TikTok many years ago.

“I think what wins besides talent is authenticity,” said Howie Mandel, longtime comedian, and America’s Got Talent judge. “He is such a wonderful, loveable, talented representation of someone chasing their dreams.”

In Vigo County, the Terre Haute community hasn’t stopped believing in Richard and even the support doesn’t go unnoticed, even all the way in Hollywood.

“People are screaming for him, making posters, and all I am thinking about is Richard,” said Heidi Klum, model and America’s Got Talen judge. “We don’t live there, but we see the videos of when he comes home, and everyone is so sweet. He deserves it so much; I want it so bad for him.”

One thing is for sure, win or lose, Richard has taken the world by storm and touched the hearts of millions.

And back at home, Richard can feel the support from his community.

“I appreciate your love and support. I’m looking forward to bringing back a win,” said Richard Goodall.

You can watch the America’s Got Talent Results Show on Tuesday, September 24th on WTWO.
